WARDOGS Towers Explained — Codes, Capture & the Hot Zone

Season 1 Early Access · mechanics as documented through Season 1

Towers are the objective on top of the objective. The match is scored on holding the Control Zone; the towers decide where the double-value Hot Zone sits inside it. They're the one part of a match a team can deliberately steer — which makes them the highest-leverage play a coordinated squad can make.

What the Tower Code Does

  1. Each map has capturable towers — fixed structures, each with a control panel.
  2. Capture one and your faction gets a digit. Four towers, four digits: a four-digit code.
  3. Complete the code and your faction can pull the Hot Zone toward a tower you already hold — moving the game's double-score, double-cash ground onto territory you control and can fortify.
Why this matters: inside the Hot Zone you count double toward zone score and earn double cash. A team that anchors the Hot Zone on its own fortified tower is fighting for double rewards on ground it chose. That's the whole tower meta in one sentence.

How to Capture a Tower, Step by Step

  1. Clear it. Enemy players holding the tower must be dead or gone before the panel responds.
  2. Wait out the cooldown. Once the area is clear, the panel goes through a short lockout. Standing on it early does nothing.
  3. Interact with the panel. Capture is a press at the panel — not a timer standing in a circle. This is why one enemy left alive inside can stall your capture.
  4. Hold it. A captured tower can be taken back exactly the same way, and a faction that loses one loses the digit's use with it.

Common Tower Mistakes

How Towers Connect to Everything Else

Towers sit at the intersection of every other system. They justify vehicle spending (fast tower response), reward the economy loop (Hot Zone = double cash), and give squads a concrete shared task (see playing with friends). FAQ

What do towers do in WARDOGS?
Each captured tower contributes a digit to a four-digit code. Complete the code to pull the Hot Zone — double score, double cash — toward a tower your faction holds.
How do you capture a tower?
Clear enemies, let the panel's cooldown finish, press the panel, then defend. It's an interaction, not a zone-timer — one hidden enemy can stall it.
Can towers be retaken?
Yes, by the same process. Losing a tower removes your faction's use of its digit.
Are towers worth dying for?
Sometimes — a completed code that anchors the Hot Zone on your ground can swing a match. Just remember the match is scored in the zone, not at the tower.
