WARDOGS Driver Leveling Guide — XP Per Trip & Level 35 Roadmap

Season 1 Early Access (build 0.11) · XP table patch-synced, run numbers community-measured September 2026

Short answer: Driver 35 costs 750,000 total XP — about 33 reference Ural runs (22,500 XP each) or, as the player who documented the whole grind put it, about 69 focused hours. The proven loop: buy a Ural and two supply pallets, deliver them to your team's FOB in the Control Zone, then reset and repeat. It pays ≈ $3,050 profit per cycle while it levels you. The last stretch is the steep part — levels 26–35 alone cost 385,000 XP, more than half the entire track.

The Roadmap — Every Unlock to Level 35

The vehicle and cargo unlocks that actually matter, with cumulative XP and the cash each unlock costs on top of the item's price (unlock costs from the patch-synced MetaForge table; XP from the same):

LevelTotal XPUnlocksUnlock cost
31,250Ural — the logistics workhorse ($5,000, see vehicles)$35,000
817,250Dune Buggy$25,000
1035,000Kodiak [Pickup]$35,000
15110,000Humvee$25,000
16131,750Large Crate — front-line retail cargo (see pallets vs crates)$20,000
18183,750Ural Defender$75,000
20250,000Humvee [M249]$125,000
25365,000Ural Defender [M249]$125,000
30500,000Humvee [Minigun]$150,000
35750,000L2A6 tank ($14,000 + this unlock)$500,000

The intermediate levels cost 20,000–75,000 XP each and climb steadily — level 35 by itself is 75,000 XP. Past 35 the track continues to level 100 (6,000,000 XP) but unlocks nothing but music tapes along the way. Total cash to unlock everything through the tank: about $1.17M on top of item prices — which is why the money guide and the grind go together.

The Loop That Reached 35 in 69 Hours

From the player who posted the full method (September 2026, 69 hours / level 35). Per cycle:

StepCash
Buy the Ural−$5,000
Buy 2 supply pallets ($400 each)−$800
Enter the Control Zone+$250
Drop off both pallets in the zone+$5,000
Pallets enter the FOB (1,800 supplies each)+$3,600
Profit per cycle+$3,050

Two details make it fast. First, the player filled the first run with large crates holding a FOB, hammers and supplies for whoever sets up at the front — then switched to pure pallets. Second, the reset trick: after delivering, crash the truck into a wall and respawn instead of driving back. It sacrifices the truck (already re-bought next cycle anyway) and saves 3–5 minutes per loop, because the round trip bonus does not apply to pallet deliveries — only to delivering people into the zone and returning. Boring? Yes. A second monitor and a controller help. Run your own cargo mix in the profit calculator.

Where Driver XP Actually Comes From

  1. Delivering passengers into the Control Zone — the biggest single source. Bonus XP if they stay alive after the drop, more if they get kills, and more again for Hot Zone drops.
  2. Dropping pallets and supplies in the zone — the logistics loop above.
  3. Driving the APC in — it appears at spawn when your team reaches 20 points. Driving it into the Control Zone pays $3,000 plus driver XP, and every player who spawns on it pays you XP (more if they kill) — though this diminishes and eventually stops. Credit sticks with whoever drove it in, wherever it's parked after.
  4. Gun kills while you drive — the M249 and Minigun vehicle variants award driver XP to everyone in the vehicle when the gunner kills.
  5. Running enemies over. The traditional way.

Also confirmed by players: getting the spawn vehicle into the zone is worth 500 XP by itself, plus more per person who spawns on it. If nobody rides ground vehicles (everyone takes helicopters), your leveling slows to the pallet loop — the community's single biggest complaint about the track.

Faster Than the Ural: Gun Trucks

If you have a buddy online, the M249 Humvees and pickups out-level the Ural: one drives, one guns, and every gun kill pays driver XP to the whole crew. Tank crews report the same pattern at the top end. The pure-logistics loop is the solo answer; the gun truck is the duo answer.

What Changes at Level 35

Round Trip Bonus, Explained

The round trip bonus is real but narrow. A BULKHEAD developer (brammflakes) on r/WarDogs, September 2026: "we do have the round trip bonus, just nobody notices" — it pays for delivering players into the Control Zone and driving back, not for cargo. Players observing cargo runs report it triggers on the first run of a haul and not subsequent ones, which is why the reset-and-rebuy loop above skips the return leg entirely.

Season 2 removes it. Same developer, same thread: "the round trip is no longer a thing, instead we are doing compounding cash rewards — so you have streaks effectively. Keep delivering pallets with the same Ural, you'll make more and faster." Reusing one truck across consecutive deliveries will out-earn the current reset loop after the Season 2 patch. The devs have also said land vehicles as a whole are being reworked.

The full payout rules — zone multipliers, streak math, end-of-match splits — are on the money guide.

Is the Grind Worth It?

Honest community picture: Driver is widely called the grindiest specialization in the game. A level-20 driver reports Support reaches the same rank in a fifth of the games; launch-week threads titled "driving is horrific to level up" and "Driver Level 35 not achievable in a month before wipe" sum up the mood. And Season 2 will wipe progress — the player behind the 69-hour method says the trade is fine in Early Access: the feedback shapes the rework the devs have already confirmed. If you enjoy the driving itself (and the $3,050 cycles bankrolling everything else), the track pays for itself on the way to 35. If not, the pilot track or support roles level faster.

FAQ

How long to Driver level 35?
750,000 XP total. Documented at ~69 focused hours; ~33 runs at the 22,500 XP reference pace. Levels 26–35 alone cost 385,000 XP.
How much XP per trip?
The reference Ural pallet run measured ≈ 22,500 XP and $3,050 profit per cycle (community ledger). Passenger delivery runs can exceed it — passengers pay XP on drop, on survival, and on their kills.
What's the fastest driver XP?
Duo: M249 Humvee, one drives one guns, every kill pays the crew. Solo: the pallet loop with the respawn reset. Late match: drive the APC into the zone ($3,000 + XP, plus per-spawn XP).
Does the round trip bonus apply to cargo?
Barely — it's designed for player transport. Cargo hauls report triggering it once at most. Season 2 replaces it with compounding streak rewards that favor reusing the same truck.
What do I need for the tank?
Driver 35, $500,000 for the unlock, $14,000 for the L2A6 — and a gunner in the second seat.
