WARDOGS Server Status — How to Check It Properly

Season 1 Early Access · updated as maintenance windows are announced

This page won't pretend to ping the servers live — a static page faking a green light is worse than useless. What it does: point you at the three places that actually know whether WARDOGS is down, and explain what "down" usually means during Early Access.

The Three Official Sources, In Order

  1. The Steam announcement feedstore.steampowered.com/news/app/1867240. Maintenance windows, stability hotfixes and patch notes land here first. If something is broken at scale, this is where the "we know" post lives.
  2. The official Discord — the status/announcements channels carry faster running commentary during incidents, plus staff replies to individual connection reports.
  3. SteamDB — for live player counts and depot activity. If concurrent players are cratering while you can't log in, it's not just you. (SteamDB needs a accessible network to open.)

What "Down" Usually Means Right Now

Before You Assume It's the Servers

  1. Check your own connection separately — rubber-banding while FPS is stable is network, not the server (see the settings guide's CPU/GPU/network diagnosis table).
  2. Verify the game files in Steam after big patches — failed asset updates mimic server issues.
  3. Try another region if the queue allows it; one region's capacity crunch looks identical to an outage from inside it.

FAQ

Is WARDOGS down right now?
Check the Steam announcement feed — every maintenance window and incident gets posted there. No post + SteamDB showing healthy players = it's probably not the servers.
Why is there a queue?
Early Access capacity during prime time. Queues spike after patches; they're annoying but they're not outages.
Do servers wipe?
Economy/progression wipe rules during Early Access haven't been locked — watch the Steam feed before grinding endgame currency. Our release dates page tracks the roadmap.
Where's the live player count?
SteamDB tracks concurrent players in near-real time — the reference everyone quotes.
